All Players Return Negative Coronavirus Results But One Member of Staff Tests Positive

|

Oxford United’s playing team have returned with a complete round of negative coronavirus cases, reports the Oxford Mail.

However, one member of the clubs support staff tested positive and is now self-isolating as per the guidelines.

All of the U’s 44 players and staff were tested on Monday after the EFL made it mandatory for Football League clubs to test their staff.

U’s head coach Karl Robinson, who has previously that he wants mandatory testing throughout the EFL, said: “Our doctors looked at all the permutations in relation to close contact (with players) and it doesn’t affect anybody else.

“We send them our wishes and we’re sure they’ll be okay. We’ve just got to make sure we keep doing the right things.

“It’s important we keep our eye on the ball and we don’t get sloppy with the things we do within the building.

“I’m really proud of Amy (Cranston) and James Baldock and all of our medical team – they’ve been incredible. There’s been little things along the way that we know we’ve all made little mistakes here and there.

“For most of the time, the people at the club have been excellent.”
