Brentford and Queens Park Rangers are the latest clubs to show interest in Oxford United defender Rob Dickie, as reported by West London Sport.

The 24-year-old has been subject to interest from numerous clubs all season following a stellar campaign for the U’s. Nottingham Forest were the latest club to show interest in the defender, but now another two Championship clubs have joined the race.

According to the report, the Bees have been monitoring the defender for some time, while QPR are in the market for at least one centre back. Obviously, Brentford may wait to see whether or not they gain promotion to the Premier League when they face Fulham in the Championship playoff final on Tuesday.

Fulham, meanwhile, are one of a number of clubs to have previously shown interest, along with Dickie’s former club, Reading. Championship winners Leeds United, Derby County and Premier League Burnley and Southampton have also monitored the 24-year-old this season.

Brentford also signed two Oxford players on January transfer deadline day, when Shandon Baptiste and Tariqe Fosu joined the Bees in a few reported to be around £3 million for the pair.

It has looked increasingly likely that Dickie will depart following the U’s League One play-off final defeat to Wycombe last month, but the club will want to receive a significant fee for their key man.
