There may not be any football for some time due to the coronavirus pandemic, but an Oxford United player is once again leading the charts.

Since Marcus Browne rejoined the club on loan in January from Championship side Middlesborough, the 22-year-old leads the charts for the highest goal contribution for winter window signings.

The former West Ham winger has scored four goals and provided four assists since his arrival two months ago. Scott Hogan and Jamie Murphy both have seven goals and provided one assist for Birmingham City and Burton Albion respectively, while Manchester United January singing Bruno Fernandes has scored three and added four assists.

Sammie Szmodics has provided four goals and three assists for League One promotion rivals Peterborough United, while Adam Phillips has contributed the same number for Morecambe while on loan from Burnley.

Browne scored on his second debut as the U’s lost against Rotherham United before scoring a brace during a 2-1 win over Blackpool.

The winger then provided assists in four of five games against AFC Wimbledon, Accrington Stanley, Southend United and Shrewsbury Town, while also scoring against the latter side.

The former West Ham United man spent last season on loan with the U’s and scored nine goals and provided five assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for Karl Robinson’s side.
