Oxford United winger Marcus Browne has been ruled out of Oxford United’s match at Burton Albion tonight through injury.

The winger picked up an ankle injury during the U’s heavy 4-0 loss at Peterborough United on Saturday, but it is unclear how long the Middlesbrough loanee will be sidelined for.

The club needs to wait for the swelling to go down before they can set a date on his return.

Karl Robinson, who watched the Posh defeat from the stands due to suspension, told the Oxford Mail: “Marcus Browne is out. What do you expect with the treatment he gets?

“It’s not good. We’ll see how it settles down but his ankle is in a terrible state.”

The 22-year-old has scored three goals from seven appearances since rejoining the club in January, including a brace in the win against Blackpool ten days ago, but it is another significant blow to Robinson’s already depleted squad.
