This one is impossible to ignore – Oxford United set a new club record for the highest away win in the Football League with a 6-0 demolition of Lincoln City at Sincil Bank.

Summer signing Tariqe Fosu opened the scoring after just five minutes and added a second five minutes before the break after rounding the goalkeeper.

Jamie Mackie added a third three minutes after the restart with a cleverly dinked effort before James Henry smashed home the fourth with a fierce volley.

But that wasn’t even the best goal of the day as Fosu completed his hat-trick in style, picking the ball up in his half before running through the Imps’ midfield and unleashing a dipping effort from well over 35 yards.

There was still time for summer signing Matty Taylor to score his first goal since making a return to his boyhood club on loan from Bristol City, heading home from a Chris Cadden cross.

The result was also the third match of a 19-game unbeaten run, which was eventually halted by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
