Didcot Twn 1st half: Bedwell, Elkins, Carnell, Learoyd, Martin, Ballard, Self, Dutton-Black, Longford, Janes, McDonagh.

United 1st half: Slocombe, Hawtin, Mullins, Wright, Grant, Roofe, Sercombe, Rose, MacDonald, Hoban, Roberts (George 36).

Oxford United got their season off with a 5-0 away win in Didcot in front of 940 spectators. Kemar Roofe scored two goals in the first half.

Didcot Twn 2nd half: Gannon, Taylor, Organ, Baines, Heapy, Thompson, Dutton-Black, Longford, Mills, Williams, Woodley.

United 2nd half: Slocombe, Baldock, Dunkley, Long (Cundy 78), Skarz, Humphreys (Ashby 78), Collins, Ruffels, O’Dowda, Taylor, Hylton.

At half time both teams made several changes so that all their players could get some game time.

However further goals from Josh Ashby and two from Danny Hylton sent the U’s fans home happy.

It was a match played in the right manner by both teams, who now have this as an annual fixture between both of these teams.

In the first half Michael Appleton made a surprise selection with winger Aiden Hawtin playing at right back and the youngster acquitted himself well in an unfamiliar role to himself.

However it was Callum O`Dowda in the second half that shone through with some driving runs from the middle of the park.
