Hemmings continues his Stag party

Kane Hemmings, 26 has been allowed to remain at league 2 Mansfield for the rest of the season.

Steve Evans the Stags manager is delighted that the U’s have sanctioned the extension rather than recalling the striker.

The prolific striker made a name for himself in Scotland with 28 goals in 45 matches for Cowdenbeath and 28 goals in 44 matches for Dundee. However a stint with Barnsley in between his exploits in Scotland proved less prolific with 5 goals in 28 matches.

Oxford activated a buy out clause in 2016 believed to be £250k to bring him to the yellows. In 54 matches he hit the net 15 times. This prompted then new head coach Pep Clotet to loan him out to league 2 side Mansfield in August.

He started off slowly but eventually got into his stride scoring 7 goals in 20 matches.
