Oxford United have signed former Coventry City winger, Jodi Jones. The 24-year-old joins the U’s having been involved for much of pre-season.

Jones came through the ranks at Arsenal and West Ham United before joining Dagenham & Redbridge in 2009.

The winger made his debut for Daggers in 2015 and scored four goals from 35 League Two appearances.

From there, Jones joined League One side Coventry on an emergency loan deal before signing a four-year deal with the Sky Blues in 2016.

During his time with Coventry, the 24-year-old featured as a substitute when the Sky Blues beat Oxford in the 2017 Football League Trophy final at Wembley. He was also at the club when they won promotion to the Championship but failed to make an appearance due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which ruled him out for over a year.

Last season, Jones made 12 appearances for Coventry before his release at the end of the campaign. He scored eight times and added 16 assists from 97 appearances during his duration at the club.
