Oxford United will be looking to continue their winning run when they travel to Bristol Rovers on Saturday lunchtime.

The U’s picked up their first win of the season last weekend against Cambridge before progressing to the second round of the Carabao Cup with a penalty shootout victory over Swansea.

As for the Gas, they were knocked out of the cup with defeat at Crawley and have had a mixed start to the season with a 2-1 defeat at home against Forest Green before a 4-0 rout at Burton.

Karl Robinson will make changes from the cup team that started but Sam Baldock and Yanic Wildschut remain sidelined, while Josh Murphy is a doubt. However, new signing Kyle Joseph could be in contention for some minutes.

As for Rovers, James Gibbons is a doubt but Paul Coutts returns from suspension and Sam Finley is available.

Oxford’s last visit to the Memorial Stadium ended in disappointment. During their FA Cup clash, the game ended 1-1 but the U’s led 3-1 at halftime in extra time. However, Joey Barton’s men recorded a dramatic turnaround to win 4-3. Prior to that result, the U’s are unbeaten in the last four meetings and did the double against the Gas last time they met in League One.

Predicted line-up: Simon Eastwood, Steve Seddon, Stuart Findlay, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Billy Bodin, Marcus Browne, James Henry, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Bristol Rovers 1-2 Oxford United
