Oxford United will be looking to record back to back wins when the U’s travel to Burton on Saturday.

Karl Robinson, who was sat at home as he awaited results of a PCR test, saw his side win 2-0 against Shrewsbury – a result which followed a first home league defeat of the season against Plymouth.

As for Burton, they have secured back to back wins over Fleetwood and Morecambe respectively but had also suffered a recent defeat against the Pilgrims.

The Brewers are one point above the U’s in the table but have played a game more. However, Jimmy Floyd Hasseslbaink’s side have scored five fewer than Oxford’s 20 and have conceded one more than Oxford’s 15.

Mark Sykes and Cameron Brannagan both hit their third goals of the season last time out while Thomas O’Connor has struck three in the last two matches for the Brewers.

Oxford are without Ryan Williams who picked up a groin injury in the warm-up last time out while Burton are without a handful of players, including Danny Rowe, Michael Bostick and John Brayford.

The two sides met in the first round of the Carabao Cup this season, with Oxford winning on penalties after the game finished 1-1. The U’s also did the double over the Brewers last season, winning 5-1 on the road and 4-0 at home on the final day of the campaign.

Predicted line-up: Jack Stevens, Steve Seddon, Jordan Thorniley, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Alex Rodriguez Gorrin, Cameron Brannagan, Herbie Kane, Nathan Holland, James Henry, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Burton Albion 1-3 Oxford United
