League One Preview: Oxford United v Forest Green Rovers – Team News, Form and Prediction

|

Oxford United will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven games when the U’s welcome Forest Green in League One.

Karl Robinson’s side edged past Woking in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, a result which followed a 4-0 win over Port Vale last time out in the league.

As for Forest Green, they’re without a league win in six and have suffered four defeats in that run.

Billy Bodin has netted three goals in his last two games while Matty Taylor opened his league account against Port Vale with a brace.

Former Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham is the top scorer for the visitors with seven in all competitions, including one from inside his own half in the FA Cup. However, the division’s bottom club have found goals hard to come by, with just 15 from 18 league games. They’ve also conceded 37 which is the second-worst in League One.

Apart from the usual suspects, Oxford are in a good position in terms of injuries and suspensions, with Sam Long the only doubt.

David Davis, Reece Brown, Udoka Godwin-Malife and Matt Stevens are all out for the visitors, while Jordon Moore-Taylor is a doubt.

The two sides have never met in the Football League but Oxford have two FA Cup victories and a penalty shootout success in the Football League Trophy against the visitors.

Predicted line-up: Simon Eastwood, Ciaron Brown, Stuart Findlay, Elliott Moore, Djavan Anderson, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Billy Lewis Bate, Billy Bodin, James Henry, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Oxford United 3-0 Forest Green Rovers
