Oxford began the month with a 1-1 draw at home against Fleetwood. The U’s fell behind inside two minutes but Gatlin O’Donkor netted his first senior goal just five minutes into the second half.

The club then appointed former defender Stevie Kinniburgh as their new academy manager. The 33-year-old replaces Dan Harris, who left the club in August after four and a half years.

Oxford were due to face Woking in the first round of the FA Cup but the match was suspended due to a waterlogged pitch. The game was rescheduled for Wednesday, November 16 and the winner would welcome Exeter in the second round.

Oxford travelled to Shrewsbury and continued their unbeaten away run with a 1-1 draw. Top scorer Cameron Brannagan opened the scoring before second top scorer Kyle Joseph was taken off on a stretcher. The Shrews levelled in the second half from a corner which the visitors were unable to clear.

The U’s then picked up their first home win in seven with a 4-0 victory over Port Vale. Billy Bodin and Matty Taylor both netted a brace at Grenoble Road, with the latter scoring his first league goals of the season. It was also a first clean sheet in 15.

Oxford continued their recent run with a 2-1 victory at Woking in the FA Cup. Bodin got himself on the scoresheet yet again but the National League side levelled before the break. However, Tyler Goodrham netted the winner in the second half to set up a second-round clash at home to Exeter.

The U’s then extended their unbeaten run to seven games but will feel they dropped points in a 1-1 draw at home against bottom-of-the-league Forest Green. The U’s took the lead through an early goal but Simon Eastwood had to make several top saves. However, he was unable to keep a clean sheet as Forest Green levelled in the second half.

Oxford’s unbeaten run continued as the U’s won 4-1 at home to Exeter in the second round of the FA Cup. Goals from Taylor, Brannagan and a Bodin brace secured the win at Grenoble Road.
