With a lack of striker’s at Oxford United, Tom Eaves would be a sensational addition to the squad.
The 27-year-old netted 22 goals in 50 appearances last season for Gillingham, and has scored 40 in 97 matches during his two year spell with the Kent club.
The striker is now out of contract after failing to secure a new deal with the Gills, and although its likely he will attract Championship interest, the U’s should try all avenues to acquire the forward.
He would be en epic acquisition for #oufc. Definitely need striker's, and although he could probably cut it in the Championship, we should do all we can to sign him. https://t.co/Dyki0m0Ul1

Eaves has always based his game on his physical attributes, and he was mostly a problem for defenders due to his aerial presence and ability to link up play.
And although those attributes have remained, the strike has developed into a brilliant all-round finisher.
The U’s current crop of striker’s include Jamie Mackie, and Gavin Whyte will likely fill the void, but other than that the squad lacks natural forwards.
The squad is blessed with some wonderful wingers and magical midfielders, but now they need to add a sensational striker.
