Oxford Duo Shortlisted for Monthly Award

|

Oxford United manager Karl Robinson and midfielder James Henry have been shortlisted for the League One Manager and Player of the Month for September.

Robinson guided the U’s to ten points from five games, whilst Henry bagged five goals in September.

The U’s also recorded a record-breaking away win in the Football League with a 6-0 win at Lincoln City, with 3-0 victories either side at home to Tranmere Rovers and Gillingham.

Henry scored a brace in both of the home wins and added a spectacular fourth in the win at Sincil Bank.

The U’s also secured a monumental 4-0 Carabao Cup win over Premier League outfit, West Ham United, but that result or performance won’t affect the final result.

Robinson, who’s three previous Manager of the Month awards all came whilst at MK Dons, is up against Gareth Ainsworth (Wycombe Wanderers), Joey Barton (Fleetwood Town) and Graham Coughlan (Bristol Rovers).

As for Henry, the 30-year-old is faced with Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, Peterborough United frontman Mo Eisa and Ipswich Town wing back Kane Vincent-Young.

The winner will be announced this Friday (11/10), with the U’s hoping to complete a fantastic month with another double.
