Oxford United travel to Wimbledon this Saturday as the U’s look to continue their strong start to the season.

Karl Robinson’s side saw off Lincoln City last time out in what was one of their greatest performances of the new campaign, helped by a stunning hat-trick from James Henry.

As for the Dons, they have drawn three of their opening five league games with their only loss coming on the road to Sunderland. Mark Robinson’s side will also face Arsenal in the third round of the Carabao Cup after wins on the road over Charlton and Northampton respectively.

Both sides have scored eight league goals this season. For Oxford, Henry has notched four while the Dons’ list comprises of eight different goalscorers.

Oxford’s injury list is easing up with just Jamie Hanson, Sam Long and Billy Bodin still sidelined, but Marcus McGuane has now been ruled out for up to four weeks with a thigh injury. Gavin Whyte is away on international duty.

The new-look Plough Lane has overseen two league draws so far this season, meaning the Dons are without a competitive win at their new stadium since a 2-1 victory over the U’s back in April.

Before the defeat last time these two teams met, Oxford had won the previous five encounters and were unbeaten in six. However, only one of those results came on the road. The Dons have managed just five wins from 22 meetings between the two clubs.

Predicted line-up: Jack Stevens, Steve Seddon, Jordan Thorniley, Elliott Moore, Anthony Forde, Alex Rodriguez Gorrin, Cameron Brannagan, James Henry, Nathan Holland, Ryan Williams, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: AFC Wimbledon 1-2 Oxford United
