Oxford United travel to bottom club Burton Albion on Saturday looking to continue their rich vein of form.

Karl Robinson’s side went unbeaten in December, picking up draws against Ipswich, Hull and Blackpool before wins over Northampton, AFC Wimbledon and Plymouth.

The U’s also conceded just three goals from those six league games, keeping four clean sheets along the way, having failed to keep one in the league this season before the goalless draw against the Tractor Boys.

Following their win over Plymouth on Tuesday night, Oxford are 15th in League One and 12 points ahead of Burton, who sit bottom on 13 points.

The Brewers have lost their last four games and are winless in seven, conceding 17 goals. With just two wins in the league this season, Burton also have the worst defensive record, conceding 45 goals.

However, they have scored two more goals than the U’s. Former Oxford striker Kane Hemmings has netted seven goals this season, as has Lucas Akins with five coming in the league. Midfielder Joe Powell has also added six goals and has provided a further seven assists.

For Oxford, Mide Shodipo took his goal tally to four when he scored against Plymouth as Karl Robinson made three changes. Alex Rodriguez Gorrin is available after missing the trip to Devon through suspension but Liam Kelly picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, ruling him out of the game. Cameron Brannagan and Sam Winnall could both make a return to the bench.

The U”s have failed to beat the Brewers in their last three meetings with this fixture ending in a 2-2 draw last season. In fact, the U’s have just three wins from 15 meetings between the sides with their last win at the Pirelli Stadium coming in 2013.

Predicted line-up: Jack Stevens, Josh Ruffels, Rob Atkinson, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Alex Rodriguez Gorrin, Marcus McGuane, Anthony Forde, Jordan Obita, James Henry, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Burton Albion 0-3 Oxford United
