Preview: League One – Doncaster Rovers vs Oxford United

|

Oxford United face a second away day in just three days as Karl Robinson’s U’s travel to Doncaster Rovers.

The U’s won the reverse fixture 3-0 against Darren Moore’s side during their impressive 18-game unbeaten run, and have secured back to back 1-0 home wins over Wycombe Wanderers and Lincoln City respectively.

Then on Sunday, Oxford won at AFC Wimbledon and moved up to 2nd in League One, while Donny lost 2-1 at home against Sunderland and have dropped to 16th in the table.

Doncaster won impressively on the road last time out against Peterborough United, but it was just their first league win in five games following a 7-1 drubbing against Southend United back in October, and just their second win from 12 games in all competitions.

Oxford have no new injury concerns and a few players will feel refreshed after sitting out the Wimbledon win.

Keiran Sadlier is the opponents top scorer with nine goals, while forwards Kwame Thomas and Alfie May have both added three. Midfielder Jon Taylor has scored five, while James Coppinger and Ben Whiteman have both netted four.

Oxford have lost just once in the last 12 meetings against Doncaster, with the hosts last victory coming in 2003.

Predicted line-up: Jordan Archer, Josh Ruffels, John Mousinho, Rob Dickie, Chris Cadden, Alex Rodriguez Gorrin, Cameron Brannagan, Mark Sykes, Tariqe Fosu, James Henry, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Doncaster Rovers 1-2 Oxford United
