“But there is something in there. You’re talking possibly four to eight weeks”

It’s a major blow for the U’s given the lack of strikers at the club. With the absence of Taylor, Jamie Mackie remains the clubs only current fit striker.

Mackie started in last nights Carabao Cup clash against Millwall but was replaced by James Henry who finished the game as the striker. The former Millwall man scored an injury-time penalty after the U’s came from two goals down before winning 4-2 in the penalty shootout.

Robinson still has a week to sign another striker if he feels fit to do so, but the U’s also have Dan Agyei who signed from Burnley, but the 22-year-old is yet to play for the club. Ben Woodburn could also play there, but his best performances have come when playing behind the frontman.
