Oxford United await the results of a scan to confirm the extent of the shoulder injury sustained by Josh Ruffels during the U’s loss at Lincoln City.

The left-back suffered the injury in the second half and was replaced by Sean Clare as a result, before Karl Robinson’s side succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at Sincil Bank.

The 26-year-old went got an x-ray on Saturday night and there were no signs of any breaks or fractures.

However, the Oxford-born defender will miss tomorrow nights Carabao Cup clash against Watford as a result.

The other possible absentee could be Rob Atkinson. The centre back was given a straight red card in added time at Lincoln, but the club have lodged an appeal.

The result is expected later today, but a three-game ban would apply if the appeal is unsuccessful.

Alex Rodriguez Gorrin and Jamie Hanson will also miss the match through injury.
