Ryan Clarke walks on the wild side again

Ryan Clarke, 33 has played his last match with the U’s. The 6ft 3 goalkeeper terminated his contract with the club this week.

Oxford United head coach had made it clear that Ryan would not be first choice this season with the signing of Sam Slocombe the former Scunthorpe shot stopper.

Former U’s boss Chris Wilder, now manager of Northampton moved quickly to snap up the player who he bought to the club in 2009. During his time with the U’s he played in 264 matches becoming a fans favourite.

An excellent keeper at this level, I’m sure Clarkey will recieve a warm welcome when he returns against the U’s this season.
