West Ham United could be enforced to sell Nathan Holland at a cut-price, but Sheffield Wednesday are closing in on the winger, according to the Football Insider.

Despite a successful loan spell at Oxford United this season, the Hammers are still looking for £1 million, according to the report. But, with the financial uncertainty as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, it could be too much for the U’s.

Holland joined the U’s in January on loan from the Hammers. He made 12 appearances and scored three times, including a last-minute equaliser as Oxford came from two goals down to force extra time in an FA Cup fourth replay against Newcastle United.

The U’s would have been hopeful of retaining the youngsters’ services for next season, but with the uncertainty over the outcome of League One and Two, a move to the Championship could suit the 21-year-old.

Right now, transfer talk isn’t a priority with the uncertainty over the current football situation. Although, it would be frustrating to see another successful Oxford loanee end up elsewhere.
