Oxford United goalkeeper Jack Stevens has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
The 22-year-old, who has only made three appearances this season – all of which came in the Football League Trophy – came through the youth set up at the club, but only made his debut in April last year.
Really happy to have signed a new contract at @OUFCOfficial π 𧀠hopefully be back playing again soon! #StayAtHome https://t.co/jDw39ecAsE

He was substituted on after Simon Eastwood was dismissed during the U’s 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic, and he started three days later as the U’s won at Shrewsbury Town.
Talking to the clubs’ official website, Stevens said: βIβm really happy at the club and excited for the future. Itβs great to get it sorted.
“The gaffer and staff are excellent and it is great to know that they have confidence in me. I feel I am improving as a keeper and want to keep pushing myself all the time and hopefully get more first-team opportunities.β
Meanwhile, U’s boss Karl Robinson added: βWe have every faith in Jack and rate him really highly.
“He is a little bit unlucky in having Easty ahead of him but we know what Jack can do and we can all see that he is determined to take his chance next time it comes around, which is fantastic for us.β
Obviously, as a number two goalkeeper, game time is limited, but Stevens is able to learn a lot from Eastwood.
It’s positive news for the club in a time when there is no football due to the coronavirus pandemic.
