Taylor Nominated For Monthly Award

|

Oxford United striker Matty Taylor has been shortlisted for the Player of the Month award for November.

Oxford only played two league games in November after the Ipswich game was postponed, but the 29-year-old scored a last-minute equaliser at Portsmouth and netted a brace as the U’s ran out 4-0 winners at Southend United.

Taylor has scored eight goals from 14 appearances in all competitions following his loan move from Bristol City, and Robinson has already expressed his intent to snap up the Oxford-born striker on a permanent basis.

It’s the third successive month that the U’s have had a player nominated after James Henry and Tariqe Fosu were both shortlisted alongside manager, Karl Robinson.

Taylor is up against fellow frontmen Armand Gnanduillet of Blackpool and Darryl Murphy of Bolton, plus Wycombe Wanderers full-back Joe Jacobson.

The winner will be announced this Friday, one day before the U’s travel to MK Dons.
