Oxford United will be looking to bounce back from their dramatic defeat against Derby when the U’s travel to Charlton on New Year’s Day.

Des Buckingham’s side led by two goals against their promotion rivals but ended up losing the game.

As for Charlton, they are without a win in seven in all competitions and have lost their last two matches.

The U’s are still without several first team players and Josh Murphy has now been sidelined for up to three weeks. Tyler Goodrham and Stanley Mills were also forced off against the Rams.

The Addicks are without Miles Leaburn while former U’s manager Michael Appleton has a few doubts, including Chuks Aneke, Harry Isted and Panutche Camara.

Alfie May, who many Oxford fans were keen to sign in the summer, has netted 19 goals already this season, including 15 in the league.

Oxford have a good recent record against Charlton and are unbeaten in the last six meetings, winning four. In fact, the Addicks have just one win from the last 14 clashes between the two sides in all competitions.

Predicted line-up: James Beadle, Ciaron Brown, Jordan Thorniley, Elliott Moore, Joe Bennett, Josh McEachran, Marcus McGuane, Fin Stevens, Cameron Brannagan, Ruben Rodrigues, Mark Harris.
