David Francis ‘Dave’ Langan (born 15 February 1957 in Dublin now 55) is an Irish former professional footballer who played as a right-back for Oxford United 114 times between 1984 and 1987.

He was capped 26 times by the Republic of Ireland and played for Derby County, Birmingham City, Leicester City, AFC Bournemouth and Peterborough.

He last played football in 1989 having to retire through injuries. A great servant to football, I can remember him forbeing a great full back for the yellows. He helped the side to the top division and playing at Wembley in the Milk Cup Final.

Dave is now registered disabled due to those back and knee injuries but has written a book about his career. You can read all about it in his new book, ‘Running Through Walls’.

He will be in the Quadrangle from 13:30 to 14:45 to sign copies, and will be introduced to the crowd at half time today against Gillingham.

A warm character who will welcome all, he is the one in the middle of the picture between the equally great John Aldridge and Billy Hamilton.

Best of luck Dave
