Oxford United made 3 deals during the last day of the transfer window.

Justin Richards 32 who has been on loan at United from Burton Albion was this week released by the Derbyshire club. He has now signed a contract which will see him stay with the yellows until the end of the season.

With one striker signing one went out albeit it on loan young striker Tyrone Marsh went to Staines Town of the Blue Square Premiership until the end of the season. We wish Ty all the best.

The third one being very controversial is goalkeeper Luke McCormick. Luke 29 is a keeper of exceptional talent who has experience of playing in league one and the championship. With Oxford`s no1 Ryan Clarke ruled out through injury for the rest of the season and Wayne Brown clearly way past his best United had to field young Max Crocombe.

Max a very good prospect has been noticed and included in the New Zealand U20 26 man team. If he makes the cut as the squad is being reduced to 20 then he would have to miss the majority of the season as well.

So with that in mind Luke appears a good addition to the U`s set up, doesn`t he?

Well this is the body blow in 2008 Luke was convicted and spent time in jail after being found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving. He was released in June 2012 and has been playing for Truro City this season.
