Two U’s Players in EFL Top 50

|

Oxford United duo James Henry and Cameron Brannagan have made FourFourTwo magazine’s top 50 EFL players list.

Supporters decide who makes the cut, which has been featured in their latest issue.

Unsurprisingly, the list largely comprises of Championship players, with Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic leading the way. But surprisingly, U’s defender Rob Dickie doesn’t make the list, despite being linked with summer moves to Burnley and Southampton.

Henry, who has scored 14 goals and provided ten assists this season was number 38 on the list, the seventh-best player from League One.

Despite missing parts of the season through injury, Brannagan came in nine places higher than his teammate at number 29, which is the fourth highest from the division.

Peterborough United striker Ivan Toney, who scored twice as the Posh beat Oxford 4-0 in February, was voted the highest League One player at number 14 after the striker has scored 26 goals in all competitions, nine more than Oxford’s top scorer, Matty Taylor.

The U’s have had a solid season. Karl Robinson’s side sit 3rd in League One, and reached the FA Cup fourth round and Carabao Cup quarter-final but lost to Newcastle United and Manchester City respectively.
