U’s Duo Nominated for League One Fans’ Player of the Season

Oxford United duo Rob Dickie and James Henry have been shortlisted for the PFA Bristol Street Motors League One Fans’ Player of the Year Award.

Both players had key campaigns as the U’s ended the season in fourth, before eventually losing out to Wycombe Wanderers in the League One playoff final.

Dickie, who joined the U’s from Reading in January 2018, has come on leaps and bounds since his arrival. Last season, the centre back turned out 49 games, missing just one match through suspension.

As a result, the 24-year-old has been linked with various moves away from the Kassam Stadium, having impressed in all competitions. Dickie has made 113 appearances for the U’s.

Meanwhile, Henry had yet another terrific season for the U’s. Having joined six months earlier than Dickie under the stewardship of Pep Clotet, the midfielder went on to be the clubs’ top scorer in his first two seasons.

Even though he scored an impressive 14 goals in all competitions last season, Matty Taylor notched the highest tally with 17. That said, the majority of Henry’s 12 assists were for the Oxford-born striker.

The award is decided by a vote among supporters and closes at 8 am tomorrow.
