Oxford United’s FA Cup fourth-round replay at home to Newcastle United has been selected for live television coverage.

The match, which takes place on Tuesday 4 February, will be shown live on BBC One with an 8.05 pm kick-off.

Tickets are already selling fast and there could be yet another sell-out at Grenoble Road this season, despite the TV coverage.

The U’s have been on television twice already this season. Their FA Cup first round trip to Hayes and Yeading United was also on BBC, while the Carabao Cup quarter-final at home to Manchester City was selected for Sky Sports coverage.

The club will receive a broadcast fee, while the winner will earn just under £200,000 in prize money, with a trip to West Brom the reward in the fifth round.

The last time the U’s made the fifth round was in 2017 when Michael Appleton’s side overcame the Magpies when the two teams met at the Kassam Stadium.
