Fosu told the Oxford Mail: “It’s been a bit frustrating with my hamstring just getting it right. It’s a tricky one. I’ve got pace so when I can’t push myself it’s a bit frustrating.

“But I felt very good again, so I’ve just got to keep going. I think a blank week probably helped me a lot.

“We had a good week training and we’ve managed it right, so I’ve just got to keep going.”

Going forward, the U’s have looked comfortable all season, but haven’t always been clinical in front of goal. It’s defensively that is the issue for Robinson, but they managed to secure just their second clean sheet of the season.

And the U’s defended as a team. Fosu tracked back on more than one occasion and helped his side to the win.

Fosu added: “We’ve worked on it all week with the gaffer. He’s been on all of us wingers to get back and help the team.

“I think we’ve been very good in possession (this season) but have struggled without the ball. I think we got it right here and we’ve just got to continue that.”

The U’s travel to Bolton tomorrow night, a side that conceded six in their previous game, and this U’s attack will be relishing a chance to test the Trotters defence.
