Oxford United midfielder Cameron Brannagan has attracted the interest of newly promoted Blackpool, according to Football Insider.

The report suggests that the Seasiders have submitted a six-figure bid for the 25-year-old, who has two years remaining on his current deal.

The 2018/19 Player of the Season has become a key part of Karl Robinson’s side and has turned out over 150 times for the U’s.

The club rejected an offer, believed to be from Millwall, last season and Robinson revealed a bid had been rejected for an unnamed player from another club before the U’s 3-1 win over Lincoln on Saturday.

If the U’s are to lose Brannagan, who does have a buyout clause in his contract, they already have a new midfielder lined up. Speaking before the game, he said: “Something cropped up yesterday that we called an emergency board meeting.

“It was something we couldn’t say no to really – the quality of the player, it was a necessity to do it.”
