Following the news that Stanley Mills had returned to his parent club due to injury, Oxford then confirmed the departure of Kyle Edwards.

Like Mills, Edwards has seen his time at the club cut short due to injury, with a hamstring problem keeping him sidelined for some time.

The 25-year-old, who joined the club at the start of September, managed just six appearances for the U’s, scoring twice and adding one assist.

He replaced Marcus Browne, who himself had picked up a hamstring injury, and looked to be a positive addition down the left-hand side before injury struck.

Playing on the same side as former Ipswich defender and teammate Greg Leigh, the duo put in some solid displays for the club.

Oxford are now desperate to add new additions, particularly wingers, with Josh Murphy another that is sidelined.
