Former Aberdeen forward Marley Watkins is training with Oxford United ahead of a potential summer move, according to Football Insider.

The 32-year-old was released by the Scottish club in the summer, where he scored four times from 52 appearances over two seasons.

Watkins also spent two seasons at Inverness Caledonian Thistle before returning to England in 2015 when he won promotion from League One with Barnsley.

The forward, who can play on either flank or down the middle, found the net 17 times over two seasons for the Tykes, including ten in the Championship.

Moves to Norwich, Bristol City and Cardiff followed before he returned north of the border to play for Aberdeen.

Despite the arrival of striker Mark Harris earlier today, Liam Manning is still looking to bring attacking reinforcements to the club.

While Watkins may be in his latter years, the forward has plenty of Championship and Scottish Premiership experience under his belt.
