According to Peter O’Rourke from Football Insider, Oxford United midfielder Alex Rodriguez Gorrin has agreed a new deal with the club.

The Spaniard was out of contract in the summer and had attracted interest from several other League One clubs.

However, according to O’Rourke, the 28-year-old will remain at Grenoble Road ahead of another campaign in League One.

Gorrin has racked up over 100 appearances for the U’s since joining from Scottish Premiership side Motherwell in 2019.

However, the midfielder found game time hard to come by this season after picking up an ACL injury in an FA Cup tie against Bristol Rovers back in November.

His presence in front of the back four had been missed this season with the U’s conceding more goals than any other of the top ten sides in the division

Manager Karl Robinson stated at the time that, despite his injury, he would be offered a new deal by the club.
