Oxford United will be looking to bounce back from back to back defeats when the U’s travel to Charlton on Saturday.

Karl Robinson’s side lost against Accrington and Bolton last week, resulting in the club dropping out of the top six.

As for the Addicks, they too suffered back to back defeats last week, losing 2-1 on the road at Bolton and Wigan respectively. However, Johnnie Jackson’s side won their previous three league games.

Sam Long, Luke McNally and Gavin Whyte all returned against the Trotters but Billy Bodin, who scored both goals in their 3-2 loss, is a doubt, while James Henry also remains sidelined.

Corey Blackett-Taylor, top scorer Jayden Stockley and former Oxford loanee Jake Forster-Caskey are all ruled out but another former Oxford player Elliot Lee has four goals since joining the South London club in the summer.

Only Sunderland have conceded more goals from the top ten sides than Oxford this season, with 14th placed Charlton also conceding tel fewer than the U’s.

Oxford won the reverse fixture at Grenoble Road earlier this season but lost 2-0 at the Valley last season. However, prior to that defeat, the U’s have won three and drawn one of their last visits to South London.

Predicted line-up: Jack Stevens, Steve Seddon, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Luke McNally, Ryan Williams, Herbie Kane, Cameron Brannagan, Mark Sykes, Gavin Whyte, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Charlton Athletic 1-2 Oxford United
