Oxford United will be looking to capitalise on their impressive win at Charlton when the U’s travel to Crewe on Tuesday night.

Matty Taylor, Sam Baldock and Cameron Brannagan were all on the scoresheet during the 4-0 win over the Addicks – a result which came following back to back defeats.

As for Crewe, their match against Portsmouth was postponed but the Alex are bottom of League One and without a win in seven games, losing six. David Artell’s side have just two wins from their last 12 matches in all competitions.

Oxford will assess the fitness of Luke McNally after he picked up a knock at the Valley, along with Billy Bodin, who missed the trip altogether. James Henry and Marcus Browne are also close to a return.

Crewe are without top scorer Mikael Mandron, Rio Adebisi and Ben Knight while Scott Kashket and Ryan Alebiosu are doubtful. Former U’s striker Dan Agyei has scored once from four appearances since joining the club last month.

This season, only Doncaster have scored fewer than Crewe while the Alex have also conceded the third-highest amount of goals in the league. Crewe also have a joint league-low five wins this season, but four of those victories have come at home.

Oxford won the reverse fixture earlier this season and also picked up all three points in this fixture last season, winning 6-0, but Crewe had won the previous three meetings, including one at Gresty Road.

Predicted line-up: Jack Stevens, Steve Seddon, Luke McNally, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Herbie Kane, Cameron Brannagan, Ryan Williams, Gavin Whyte, Mark Sykes, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Crewe Alexandra 0-3 Oxford United
