Oxford United will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce when they welcome Cambridge to Grenoble Road.

The U’s have picked up away wins over Charlton and Crewe, keeping back to back clean sheets in the process, but their last home game ended in defeat against Bolton.

As for Cambridge, they are unbeaten in their last three league games with their most recent result a 2-0 win over promotion hopefuls Plymouth. However, they have failed to win in their last five away games in all competitions.

Oxford could welcome back James Henry after he played 45 minutes in a behind closed door friendly match on Tuesday. Billy Bodin and Marcus Browne are also close to a return but defender Elliott Moore is a doubt with an ankle injury.

Lloyd Jones, Jack Iredale, Jensen Weir and Joe Ironside are all absent for the visitors, but Shilow Tracey made a return against the Pilgrims. Losing Ironside is a blow as the striker has netted 13 goals this season, but former U’s player Sam Smith has taken his tally to 14 for the campaign.

Oxford are unbeaten in the last four league meetings between the two sides, with the clubs playing out a 1-1 draw on the opening day of the season. Cambridge did beat the U’s 4-1 in the Football League Trophy but haven’t picked up an away win against Oxford since 1978.

Predicted line-up: Jack Stevens, Steve Seddon, Luke McNally, Ciaron Brown, Sam Long, Herbie Kane, Cameron Brannagan, Ryan Williams, Mark Sykes, Gavin Whyte, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Oxford United 2-0 Cambridge United
