Oxford United welcome Morecambe on Saturday as the U’s look to make it four wins in succession in all competitions.

Despite Kark Robinson’s absence due to covid, his side saw off Shrewsbury Town and Burton Albion in the league before winning against Tottenham U21s in the Football League Trophy.

As for Morecambe, they weren’t in action during the week but picked up a point against table-topping Plymouth last time out. However, the Shrimps are winless in five, with all three of their victories coming at home this season.

The U’s have only lost one league game at Grenoble Road and have the fourth-best home record in the league, while Morecambe’s away record is the fourth-worst with just four points coming from seven matches.

Oxford are still without Jack Stevens due to glandular fever and Sam Winnall picked up a calf injury during the week. Ryan Williams missed the midweek match with a bug but could return.

As for Morecambe, Alfie McCalmont, Courtney Duffus and former U’s striker Jon Obika are all out injured, but Shayon Harrison made a return to the bench against the Pilgrims.

A majority of the Shrimp’s goals have come down their left, with left-back Greg Leigh and left-winger Arthur Gnahoua providing four assists each. Midfielder Adam Phillips has scored six times this season but their danger man is striker Cole Stockton, who has 12 goals.

The U’s are unbeaten in their last three meetings against the Shrimps, drawing two, but the visitors have won at Grenoble Road before.

Predicted line-up: Simon Eastwood, Steve Seddon, Jordan Thorniley, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Alex Rodriguez Gorrin, Cameron Brannagan, Herbie Kane, Mark Sykes, James Henry, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Oxford United 2-0 Morecambe
