Oxford United are one of several clubs looking at Hibernian defender Tom James, according to Football Insider.

The Scottish Premiership outfit are willing to listen to offers for the 25-year-old right-back, with the U’s set to battle with Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic for his signature.

James joined Hibernian from Yeovil Town in 2019. However, he has managed just 12 appearances since moving to Scotland and has spent time on loan at Wigan and League Two side Salford City this season.

During his time with the Latics, he turned out 24 times and scored four goals before a loan move to the Ammies in January, but he has been limited to just four appearances and has been out of favour under new boss, Gary Bowyer.

The 25-year-old is out of contract next summer, meaning a transfer fee would be needed to secure his signature.

The right-back, who can also cover on the left, would be a good option for the U’s who are short in both areas ahead of next season.
