League Two side Gillingham are targeting Oxford United midfielder James Henry, according to Darren Witcoop.

The 33-year-old has turned out 25 times this season, scoring once and providing two assists, but only 15 of those have been starts and he has completed 90 minutes on just two occasions.

The midfielder, who joined the club in 2017, has made 237 appearances for the club and penned a new deal at the start of the season.

However, he hasn’t been involved in any of the club’s last three fixtures, raising questions about his future at the club.

Witcoop doesn’t state whether or not the move would be a permanent one of a loan deal, but the Gills have already made a few new acquisitions under their new ownership as they look to propel themselves off the bottom position in the Football League.

The reports suggests that the Kent club are also looking at Peterborough striker, Jack Marriott.
