Oxford United are interested in bringing Kilmarnock defender Stephen O’Donnell to the club, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The 27-year-old, who has played 23 games in all competitions, is out of contract in the summer but reports suggest that U’s boss Karl Robinson will be prepared to wait for a pre-contract deal if a fee can’t be agreed to seal the move this month.

The right-back, who has scored twice and provided two assists, would be a welcome addition after Chris Cadden was recalled from his loan spell by MLS side, Columbus Crew.

And although Sam Long is expected to replace Cadden, Robinson admitted he was looking to bring another right-back to the club.

The former Partick Thistle and Luton Town defender has racked up well over 300 appearances and has been capped by Scotland eleven times.

The U’s looked at signing fellow Killie defender Stuart Findlay in the summer, but the SPL sides valuation was too much for the League One club.
