Oxford United head to Exeter on the final day of the season needing to pick up all three points and hope results go their way if they are to finish in the playoffs.

Before the visit of Lincoln, the U’s were five points clear of the Imps but that was reduced to two following their win at Grenoble Road. Oxford then drew against Stevenage while Lincoln won at Cheltenham, moving above Des Buckingham’s side on goal difference.

Blackpool are also in the mix following a win over Barnsley and sit just one point behind Lincoln and Oxford. However, the defeat for the Tykes means they aren’t safe and are just one point above the U’s.

Although they haven’t won in their last two, Oxford had hit some form at a crucial stage of the season prior to those results.

Exeter occupy 12th spot in League One following their win over Northampton. The Grecians are unbeaten in their last nine games, winning six.

Oxford will be hopeful that Elliott Moore is available for this game. Josh McEachran and Marcus McGuane both picked up knocks and missed the draw against Stevenage, but may also be available.

Demi Mitchell and Admiral Muskwe are out for the hosts, while top-scorer Reece Cole, second-top-scorer Sonny Cox and Jack Aitchison are all doubts.

Oxford comfortably won the reverse fixture back in September. The U’s are unbeaten in their last seven trips to Devon when both teams have been in the Football League.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Cameron Brannagan, Ruben Rodrigues, Billy Bodin, Josh Murphy, Owen Dale, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Exeter City 0-3 Oxford United
