Oxford United will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at Cheltenham when league leaders Bolton visit Grenoble Road.

The loss at Whaddon Road came in Des Buckingham’s first game in charge, and it was a first defeat in five games.

Bolton won 7-0 at home against Exeter to extend their winning run to eight games in all competitions and move to the top of the table in the process.

Oxford are without Greg Leigh after the left-back picked up a knock while on international duty and Ruben Rodrigues will also miss the game after picking up two yellow cards against Cheltenham. However, Kyle Edwards made a return against the Robins while Elliott Moore is available after missing the trip to Whaddon Road through suspension.

Bolton are without defensive duo Zac Ashworth and George Johnston through injury. Dion Charles has 11 league goals this season, including a brace last time out, and 13 in all competitions.

Oxford have just one win from the last six meetings against Bolton. The Trotters have won all three encounters they’ve played at Grenoble Road, including a 1-0 victory last season.

Predicted line-up: James Beadle, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Stephan Negru, Kyle Edwards, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Fin Stevens, Billy Bodin, Tyler Goodrham, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Oxford United 1-1 Bolton Wanderers
