“We’ve bid a lot of money for him” – U’s Target Loan Defender

|

Oxford United manager Karl Robinson has revealed that the club have made an offer to bring Chris Cadden to the club on a permanent deal.

The Scotland international is with the U’s on a season-long loan from MLS side, Columbus Crew, but it’s expected that the American club could recall him in January ahead of their new season.

The 23-year-old has been a valuable part of Robinson’s squad, and the U’s boss has been exploring every possible way to keep hold of him.

He told the Oxford Mail: “We’ve bid a lot of money for him this week on a permanent (deal). But we have a valuation we won’t go past, so there’s no bargaining.

“If they don’t think it’s right, there’s no deal, it’s that simple. He’ll go back to Columbus Crew in January and we’ll move on.”

Cadden has made 16 appearances this season and has provided four assists.
