Andy Whing who turned 33 in September has left Oxford United where he was joint Youth team head coach.

Andy joined the U’s in May 2011 from then League 1 side Leyton Orient and played in 112 matches for the U’s scoring 2 goals both in the 2012/13 season against Barnet and Rochdale.

A 100% combative defender or defensive midfield player he play every game fully committed. A fans favourite who in 2015 was forced to retire citing a hip injury as the problem.

Since giving up the playing side of the game he took up the offer with Oxford United as joint Head Coach of the yellows U18 team. During the last couple of years he’s been working on gaining his football coaching badges.

He leaves OUFC to take up the Head Coach role of Kidderminster Harriers U23s
