Oxford United Stiker James Constable was dismissed for violent conduct for what referee Lee Collins believed was an elbow on Will Antwi with 20 minutes to go against AFC Wimbledon.
The club appealed against this decision, supported by video evidence, but the appeal was not upheld by the Football Association.
Constable’s four-match suspension will begin with Saturday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Sheffield United and will include the following matches Southend JPT Semifinal, Bradford league and Rotherham league.
If any of these matches were postponed then further matches would count towards the suspension.
