Dickie Targeted by Championship Side

Oxford United defender Rob Dickie has been targeted by Championship side Derby County, according to the Football Insider.

A Derby source has told the news outlet the club are in the market for a new centre-back in January and have considered Dickie as a replacement for Richard Keogh who was sacked earlier this season.

Dickie has been an integral part of Karl Robinson’s squad this season, making 23 appearances while adding one goal and three assists in all competitions.

Dickie, who joined the U’s in January 2018, has come on leaps and bounds since his arrival and has become a key defender for Robinson.

The 23-year-old has been the clubs first choice defender this season, with Elliott Moore and club captain John Mousinho battling it out to partner the former Reading man.

Oxford currently have George Thorne on loan from the Rams, but the midfielder is out injured alongside former Derby man Jamie Hanson.

The U’s are unbeaten in eleven league games, eighteen in all competitions, and travel to struggling MK Dons today in the hope of moving back into the playoffs after last weekends draw against Shrewsbury Town.
