Oxford United will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at Plymouth when they travel to Morecambe on Tuesday night.

The U’s suffered a 1-0 defeat at Home Park and with Sunderland winning against Gillingham, it meant Karl Robinson’s side have now dropped out of the playoffs.

Morecambe won 3-0 at home against Burton Albion on Saturday – a first win in 13 league games. The Shrimpers have conceded 27 goals from those fixtures, including nine in recent defeats against Shrewsbury and Wigan.

Oxford will be hoping that Cameron Brannagan and Elliott Moore will return from injury and illness respectively, but they welcomed back James Henry against the Pilgrims.

As for Morecambe, Alfie McCalmont, Greg Leigh, Kyle Letheren and are all doubtful for the visit of Oxford.

Cole Stockton, who Oxford were linked with in January, netted his 23rd goal of the campaign against the Brewers. His goals have certainly helped the Shrimpers in their bid for survival. Despite occupying the final relegation spot, they have conceded more goals than any other team in the division but have scored significantly more than those around them.

The U’s have only lost twice against Morecambe in 14 Football League meetings. Oxford recorded a 3-1 win in the reverse fixture earlier this season and won 4-2 on their last visit to the Globe Arena.

Predicted line-up: Simon Eastwood, Ciaron Brown, Sam Long, Luke McNally, Ryan Williams, Herbie Kane, James Henry, Mark Sykes, Billy Bodin, Gavin Whyte, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Morecambe 1-3 Oxford United
