League One Preview: Oxford United v Doncaster Rovers – Team News, Form and Prediction

|

Oxford United end their season with a home game against strugglers Doncaster Rovers.

The season is done as dusted for the U’s who missed out on the playoffs following last week’s loss at Rotherham, despite surpassing last season’s points tally.

Doncaster are all but down. They are three points from safety but have an impossible goal difference to overcome.

A 2-0 win last time out was just a second success in ten games. Only bottom club Crewe have lost more games than Donny this season, while they have also conceded the joint-most amount of goals in the league.

Jordy Hiwula, Ben Close and captain Tom Anderson are among the absentees for the visitors. As for Oxford, they will be hopeful that Sam Baldock could make a return to action.

Oxford have a good recent record against Donny, particularly at home. The U’s won 3-0 in this fixture last season and are unbeaten in nine home meetings – a run which stretches back to 1965.

Predicted line-up: Jack Stevens, Ryan Williams, Elliott Moore, Luke McNally, James Golding, Sam Long, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Billy Bodin, Marcus Browne, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Oxford United 3-1 Doncaster Rovers
