Oxford United return to action after the international break with an away trip to promotion rivals Plymouth Argyle.

The U’s saw their trip to Morecambe postponed after Ciaron Brown, Gavin Whyte and Mark Sykes were all called up to represent their countries.

Meanwhile, Plymouth suffered a first defeat in seven with a 1-0 loss at Ipswich. The Pilgrims had won their previous six without conceding a goal.

The U’s have also suffered just one defeat for their last seven and also came unstuck against Ipswich last time out with a 1-1 draw. Now, Karl Robinson’s side find themselves five points behind Saturday’s opponents but with a game in hand.

Oxford are without Marcus Browne and Sam Baldock but Elliott Moore could return. Billy Bodin made a return last time out and James Henry should feature at Home Park.

Plymouth welcome back Panutche Camara and Luke Jephcott from international while Dan Scarr made a return to the bench. The Pilgrims are without Brendan Galloway and top scorer Ryan Hardie through injury.

Plymouth won the reverse fixture at Grenoble Road but the U’s did the double against them last season, winning 3-2 in this fixture. In fact, Oxford have lost just once from the last ten trips to Home Park, winning eight.

Predicted line-up: Simon Eastwood, Ciaron Brown, Sam Long, Luke McNally, Ryan Williams, Mark Sykes, Herbie Kane, Cameron Brannagan, James Henry, Gavin Whyte, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Plymouth Argyle 1-2 Oxford United
